Spark Solution

In the wake of urban population growth and economic development, cities are facing unprecedented challenges. The rapid increase in transportation vehicles has cast a shadow on the environment, affecting air quality and posing significant risks to pedestrians and commuters alike. It's a problem that can no longer be ignored, as it takes a toll on both our well-being and economic progress.

To address these problems, Sony Europe, TTM Group (Spark, DP Control), Envision, and Citelum have collaborated to develop a smart city solution aimed at alleviating air pollution, traffic congestion, and safety issues between pedestrians and vehicles in bustling cities.

At the core of this solution is a powerful smart pole called the Genius Smart Tip, installed on traffic light poles to monitor real-time traffic and parking conditions. The Genius Smart Tip is equipped with two Sony IMX500 sensors and utilizes neural networks to instantly transmit data such as available parking space, pedestrian crosswalk situations, and number of passengers waiting at bus stops.

   Genius Smart Tip

01
Smart Parking System
Providing drivers with real-time information on available parking space locations, directing them to open spots, ultimately cutting down search time for parking, and reducing carbon emissions and traffic congestion.

02
Smart Bus System
Through real-time monitoring and in-depth analysis of passenger data, this system empowers management to fine-tune bus schedules, ensuring cost-efficient operation while elevating the passenger experience.

03
Smart Crossing
Instant notification to drivers about pedestrian crossing the road, enhancing pedestrian visibility using responsive, low-latency smart lighting, thereby significantly reducing road-crossing accidents.

The Rome Smart City solution is the result of a collaboration between Sony Europe and several Italian companies, including Spark. We draw upon our distinctive expertise and technical capabilities to pioneer innovative strategies for sustainable urban development, with the goal of improving residents' quality of life and enhancing the tourist experience.
